The town of Chania is a 25-minute bus ride away from the pier, and CIVMARs are typically dropped off in a central location in downtown Chania for liberty. Please note, the exact locations are always subject to change. Once in Chania, it is very easy to entertain yourself by exploring the many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.
Old Town is in the heart of Chania. This beautifully preserved town is characterized by its narrow, winding streets, historic Venetian architecture, and a mix of shops, tavernas and cafes. Close to old town is the Venetian Harbor. Once you see the iconic lighthouse, you will know you are there! The harbor is a focal point of downtown Chania, and it surrounded by colorful buildings and waterfront restaurants. This is another great area to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the quay and grab a drink at one of the many bars and restaurants in the area.

In Chania, there are several stores that sell statues and figurines of Ancient Greek Hero’s, Gods and Characters. One shop in particular is owned by a US Air Force Veteran, and he can ship purchases to the United States!
Olive Oil
Chania is known for its exceptional olive oil. Produced from olives grown in the Mediterranean climate and fertile soil, Chania’s olive oil boasts a vibrant color and robust flavor. Local shops throughout the town sell Olive Oil. This is a great gift to bring back home!
