T-EPF Rooms Amenities and Life on Board

Rooms and Living Situations

Officers

On an EPF, the only billets to get their own room are the Captain, the Chief Engineer, the Chief Mate, the 1 st Engineer, the 2 nd Mate and the 2 nd Assistant Engineer. The rooms are very small, and they double as their office. All other officers will share a room. Officer rooms do have heads within the room though.

Unlicensed/Non-Officer

Unlicensed personnel are typically four people to a berthing space. Each berthing space will have two sets of bunk beds. The rooms are very small and only have bunk beds, a table and lockers. There is not a head in the room, unlicensed/non-officer crewmembers use a shared head down the hall from the berthing space.

312

312 is the main area with an EPF. With 312 movie theatre style seats, the room is a seating area for embarked troops.

Mess Deck

There is only 1 chow line and one mess deck on an EPF. All crewmembers eat together,

Lounge

There is one small lounge on board right behind the mess deck that is shared by officers and unlicensed crew.

Ships Store

Like everything else on an EPF, the ship store is small. It is typically just a locker. The actual contents of the ship store will vary from ship to ship and operator to operator.

Offices

As mentioned, many of the officer rooms double as offices. There is a small Supply Office that is shared by the JSO and the Steward Cook right off the mess deck. There is also a C4I suite where the communications department works.

Gyms

The EPF gym is typically located in the mission bay, but the exact gym set-up will vary. Some have a Conex box full of equipment. The more operational ships tend to have better Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) equipment.
